Export model to ConnectFlow
The last step in the ConnectFlow workflow is to export all the associated data from the fracture model. Use the Export Model form (simulation > ConnectFlow > Export Model) to export the fracture model data which includes the 3D grid properties, faults, wellbore fractures and the wellbore data in the fracture zones.
Exporting the data
- Select the fracture Model from the drop down list.
- The unfaulted 3D grid name that is connected to the selected fracture model is shown below. The table below lists all the 3D grid properties from the source 3D grid. Select all the properties that you want to export to ConnectFlow by checking the adjacent checkbox, or check the box in the top row of the table to select all the properties.
Important You can export one grid property for facies or lithology, and one grid property for fracture intensity. ConnectFlow use these grid properties exclusively in their fracture modeling workflow. After selection, the other available grid properties for these property types are disabled on the form.
- Select Export UNDEF values if you want to export the undefined values in the grid properties as is, or select Convert UNDEF values if you want to export custom values for undefined values of grid properties. For the later scenario, enter the values in the adjacent fields that should replace the undefined values for the Continuous and Discrete 3D grid properties.
- Click Apply or OK to open the folder selection dialog where you can export the data for the fracture model. Navigate to your desired folder location and click Select Folder to complete the data export. A folder with the name <solution name> - <fracture model name> is created at the selected location.
Within the exported data folder, the data is further grouped in four separate folders.
3D Grid and Properties The unfaulted 3D grid, along with the grid properties selected on this form, is exported in RESCUE format. The grid boundary origin and step size information is stored in the .rfd file and the fracture intensity grid property is stored in the *.rfi file.
Faults Faults that were selected on the Faults form are exported in GOCAD surface (.tfc) format, and each fault is stored in separate file.
Wellbore Fractures The wellbore fracture data selected on the Wellbore Fractures form is exported in this folder as a text (.txt) file. Each fracture set is saved as a single file with following name convention: <fracture set name> <wellbore name>.txt. The fracture set data in a wellbore is represented in three columns in the text file - measured depth (MD), dip angle and azimuth. This folder is empty if your solution does not have any fracture set data to export.
Wellbores In this folder, Wellbore.csv file is stored which contains wellbore deviation survey for all the wellbores selected on the Wellbore Fractures form.
